Associate Professor, Biological Sciences, University of Waikato
Vic specialises in molecular biology and industrial enzyme research. He is the lead inventor for spin-out company OBodies, which is developing high affinity proteins for medical applications.
James Carson
Senior Lecturer, Engineering, University of Waikato
James areas of expertise include thermodynamics and food engineering. James has been involved in numerous commercial food technology projects throughout his career.
Adrian Dorrington
Senior Lecturer, Engineering, University of Waikato
Adrian's research focuses on improving the quality of 3D ranging imaging technologies. Prior to his time at Waikato, Adrian was a postdoctoral fellow at the NASA Langley Research Center
Nihal Kularatna
Senior Lecturer, Engineering, University of Waikato
Nihal's research focuses on improving the efficiency of power supplies and finding solutions to global power quality issues. Nihal’s areas of expertise include electronics engineering and power management.
Michael Mucalo
Senior Lecturer, Chemistry, University of Waikato
Michael specialises in research around biomedical materials. He is the lead inventor for spin-out company Graftoss, a medical device company developing bone implant materials for humans and animals.
Kim Pickering
Associate Professor, Engineering, University of Waikato
Kim specialises in the research and development of polymer composites using biomaterials and bioprocesses. Kim has been involved in numerous commercial projects throughout her career.
Jonathan Scott
Professor, Engineering, University of Waikato
Jonathan Scott specialises in electronics and engineering and has worked on a number of commercial projects with WaikatoLink. Jonathan spent many years at Agilient Technologies in California prior to his time at Waikato.
Grant Sherson
Technical Manager, Mediarena Research Centre, University of Waikato
Grant manages the University of Waikato’s Mediarena Research Centre, which facilitates cross-disciplinary collaboration across creative arts fields.
Johan Verbeek
Senior Lecturer, Engineering, University of Waikato
Johan specialises in the development of polymer composites from renewable materials. He is the lead inventor for spin-out company Novatein, which develops biodegradable plastic materials.
Deliang Zhang
Associate Professor, Engineering, University of Waikato
Deliang has expertise in material processing technologies. His recent research focuses on titanium power processing and consolidation.
Coarse Range Image Registration
An automated technique for coarse alignment of two or more 3D point clouds, which eliminates the need for manual image processing.
